About the Program

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA), in collaboration with local governments and community partners, proudly announces the return of Grow Solar La Crosse for 2025. This solar group-buy program allows La Crosse County residents and small businesses to invest in solar at below-market pricing through community purchasing power.

“Investing in solar means securing lower bills for many years ahead.” — Evonne Waugh, Grow Solar Program Manager

The program includes free educational events, known as Solar Power Hours, where participants learn about solar technology, incentives, and the installation process. After attending, homeowners can sign up for a no-cost site assessment from the program's selected installer.

In 2025, Ethos Green Power Cooperative, a Viroqua-based worker-owned cooperative, was selected as the trusted installer.

"Our core focus is empowering our communities through electrification, and we’re stoked to share the benefits of solar power with our neighbors in La Crosse County this year." — Tomas Herrera, Ethos Green Power
